Historical Creamware Bowl
Large creamware bowl made in England for export to America. The interior of the bowl shows a three-mast ship flying a 15-star American flag. The outside of the bowl is replete with significant patriotic and historical transfer. These include Benjamin Franklin in a fur cap, "By Virtue and Valour" military scene showing the subjugation of England, an eagle with 13 stars, and a landscape of Washington on horseback ("His Excellency General George Washington, Marshal of France & Commander in Chief of all the North American Continental Forces"). A very desirable example.
Superb professional restoration to hairlines. Fantastic display piece!
