General Andrew Jackson Historical Flask
James Taylor & Co., Brownsville, Pennsylvania, 1825–1835 - Height: 7 inches

An exceptional historical flask depicting Andrew Jackson, produced during the height of his national prominence. This deep bluish aqua pint example retains an open pontil and sheared, tooled lip, with pronounced glass swirls at the shoulder and a notable olive-toned inclusion above the portrait.

Flasks of this type rank among the most desirable of early American historical glass, reflecting Jackson’s broad popularity as both a military hero and political figure in the decades following the War of 1812. Their production coincides with the emergence of mass political identity in the United States, when likenesses of public figures began to appear on utilitarian objects intended for everyday use.

Condition: Excellent, exhibiting a bold impression with minimal signs of wear.
