Double Eagle Historical Flask
Louisville Glass Works, Louisville, Kentucky, circa 1835-1845 - GII-24 - Pint

A well-preserved American historical flask of the Double Eagle pattern, produced at the Louisville Glass Works during the second quarter of the nineteenth century. Blown in attractive light yellowish-green glass, the flask displays a bold spread-winged eagle motif rendered with a strong, well-defined impression. The base retains an open pontil, with a sheared and tooled lip typical of Louisville production of the period.

A striking example of national imagery translated into molded glass, the design reflects the continued popularity of the eagle as a symbol of federal strength and expansion in the antebellum period.

Condition: Excellent.
