Allen Ginsberg — Town Hall, New York Concert Poster
New York City, October 15, 1966
18½ x 23¾ inches

An original concert window card advertising a performance by Beat poet Allen Ginsberg at Town Hall in New York City, presented on Saturday evening, October 15, 1966. Printed in red, white, and blue, the poster features a distinctive graphic design in which the artist’s name and venue are repeated within seven concentric circles of diminishing size, creating a striking visual rhythm characteristic of mid-1960s poster design.

The poster was printed by the Murray Poster Printing Company of New York, whose imprint and union printer’s bug appear at the lower right. Ginsberg, one of the central figures of the Beat Generation and author of the landmark poem Howl, remained an influential cultural voice during the 1960s, and appearances such as this reflected the growing public audience for Beat poetry and countercultural performance.

Condition: Excellent, with light brown toning along the edges and softly rounded corners from long-term storage.
