A rare ink and watercolor drawing depicting the capture of Fort George on May 27, 1813, among the most important American offensive operations of the War of 1812. Led by General Henry Dearborn and Commodore Isaac Chauncey, the action combined naval bombardment with an amphibious landing near the mouth of the Niagara River, resulting in the successful seizure of the British fort and temporary American control of the Niagara Peninsula. Contemporary accounts regarded the engagement as a notable military success and one of the clearest demonstrations of coordinated American land-and-sea operations during the conflict.
 
Visual representations of War of 1812 engagements remain notably scarce, particularly in contemporary or near-contemporary manuscript form, lending the present drawing of historical and documentary significance.
