A complete collection of twenty political buttons designed by Lisa Lyons and issued by the Independent Student Club. Each button features a boldly rendered portrait of a historical political or revolutionary figure accompanied by a slogan, including Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, Malcolm X, Karl Marx, V.I. Lenin, Rosa Luxemburg, Eugene Debs, James Connolly, Emiliano Zapata, and others. Produced in several day-glo colors, the striking graphic treatment and saturated colors are characteristic of the era's activist and countercultural political ephemera. Rarely is a group of these buttons offered in a single color, making this uniformly orange example an especially cohesive presentation of the series.
