A collection of twenty political buttons designed by Lisa Lyons and issued by the Independent Student Club. Each features a boldly rendered portrait of a historical political or revolutionary figure paired with a slogan, including Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, Malcolm X, Karl Marx, V.I. Lenin, Rosa Luxemburg, Eugene Debs, James Connolly, Emiliano Zapata, and others. Produced in several day-glo colors, the striking graphic treatment reflects the visual language of late-1960s political and activist culture. Rarely is a collection of these buttons offered entirely in a single color, making this uniformly green group an especially cohesive presentation of the series.
