A collection of twenty political buttons designed by Lisa Lyons and issued by the Independent Student Club. Each features a boldly rendered portrait of a historical political or revolutionary figure paired with a slogan, including Tom Paine, Eugene Debs, Joe Hill, Rosa Luxemburg, John Brown, Leon Trotsky, James Connolly, Emiliano Zapata, Sam Adams, Jean-Paul Marat, Big Bill Haywood, Harriet Tubman, Malcolm X, V.I. Lenin, William Morris, Frederick Douglass, Nat Turner, Friedrich Engels, Karl Marx, and Karl Liebknecht. Produced in several day-glo colors, the striking graphic treatment reflects the visual language of late-1960s political and activist culture. Rarely is a collection of these buttons offered entirely in a single color, making this uniformly yellow group an especially cohesive presentation of the series.
