A striking group of seven political buttons featuring portraits of figures associated with socialism, labor, revolution, and Black liberation, including Leon Trotsky, Karl Marx, Malcolm X, Emiliano Zapata, Tom Paine, Frederick Douglass, and Big Bill Haywood. Each button pairs a boldly rendered portrait with a concise political slogan, reflecting the graphic language and radical political culture of the late 1960s. The buttons were produced in several Day-Glo and metallic color variations; this group is particularly distinctive for its gold metallic background, an uncommon variation of the series. The present group represents a selection from the series, although we cannot confirm that it constitutes the complete set.
