Portrait of John Dickinson engraved in stipple by Burnet Reading after Pierre Eugène Du Simitière. Known as the “Penman of the Revolution,” Dickinson authored the widely circulated Letters from a Farmer in Pennsylvania, among the most influential political writings of the Revolutionary era.
