Surmounted by an American eagle and flowing banners proclaiming “Old Zack Has Come!! Rejoice!!,” the sheet reflects the triumphal visual language of post-election political celebration.
 
Together with contemporary election extras announcing the returns, such broadsides capture the festive public culture that followed Taylor’s victory.
