A rare stipple engraving of Thomas Jefferson after Gilbert Stuart's celebrated portrait, issued circa 1802. This elusive print appears to be undocumented in the standard references, with the only recorded example located in the renowned James T. Mitchell Collection of engraved presidential portraits, sold by Davis & Harvey in 1907 (Lot 109). The refined stipple technique faithfully translates Stuart's iconic likeness, producing a portrait of remarkable clarity and subtle tonal modeling.
 
Condition: Good condition with light, even age toning and scattered minor foxing. Professionally matted and framed in a later giltwood frame. A crisp, well-preserved impression.
