“Power to the People” Black Panther Party Felt Pennant

A rare felt pennant issued by the Black Panther Party, boldly printed with the slogan “Power to the People” in green against a red ground. The design is centered with two of the movement’s most enduring visual emblems: a raised clenched fist and the leaping black panther, symbols of solidarity, militancy, and self-determination that became synonymous with the party’s political identity in the late twentieth century.
 
Graphically forceful and immediately recognizable, the pennant reflects the visual language through which the Black Panther Party communicated its message of empowerment and collective action. Examples in this format are seldom encountered, particularly in such well-preserved condition.
