Black Veterans for Social Justice Pinback Circa 1970 Diameter: 3 inches

A striking color pinback issued by Black Veterans for Social Justice, Inc., featuring a raised clenched fist supporting the scales of justice above a pyramid bearing the organization's name and an all-seeing eye. Rendered in the red, black, green, and gold palette associated with the Black liberation movement, the bold graphic combines symbols of justice, vigilance, and Black identity into a compelling expression of political activism during the Vietnam era.

Produced at a moment when African American veterans increasingly organized to address racial inequality, veterans' rights, and social justice, the pin reflects the powerful visual language that emerged from the intersection of the Civil Rights, Black Power, and antiwar movements. Its sophisticated modernist design and vibrant color palette make it an evocative and uncommon survivor of late twentieth-century African American political material culture.

Condition: Excellent. Bright colors with only light, expected handling wear, presenting exceptionally well.
