General Lafayette Historical Staffordshire Pitcher

A rare blue transfer-printed historical Staffordshire pitcher commemorating Lafayette’s return to the United States in 1824–1825, centered with a bust portrait beneath the arched inscription “General La Fayette - Welcome to the Land of Liberty.” Of particular note, the present example is the scarce three-portrait variant, with additional transfer portraits decorating the opposing sides and beneath the spout, an unusually elaborate and less frequently encountered treatment among Lafayette commemorative wares.
