A pinback button commemorating the Goose Lake International Music Festival, held August 7–9, 1970, at Goose Lake Park near Jackson, Michigan. The festival drew an estimated 200,000 attendees and featured leading acts including Chicago, Rod Stewart and the Faces, Jethro Tull, Mountain, Ten Years After, the Stooges, and the James Gang.
The button features the festival name surrounding a stylized peace symbol, with “Jackson, Michigan” identifying the location. An evocative survivor from one of the major rock festivals of the late 1960s and early 1970s.
