A bold cloth campaign hatband printed with the slogan “Harrison and Morton,” promoting the Republican ticket of Benjamin Harrison of Indiana and Levi P. Morton of New York. The inscription appears in large block lettering, with the word “and” rendered within a stylized waving banner between the two names.
Textile campaign accessories of this type were produced for rallies, parades, and political gatherings, where supporters displayed their allegiance through ribbons, badges, and printed cloth materials. Such items formed a distinctive part of nineteenth-century American election culture.
Condition: Very fine, with light toning and minor wear consistent with age.
