Liverpool Creamware Tankard Featuring American Eagle and Linked States

A finely executed Liverpool creamware tankard, transfer-printed with an American eagle surmounted by a constellation of sixteen stars, symbolizing the early Union in a linked chain motif. The inclusion of sixteen states, following Tennessee’s admission in 1796, supports an attribution to the closing years of the eighteenth century or shortly thereafter.
 
The transfer extends prominently across the front of the vessel, demonstrating the quality associated with Liverpool ceramics produced for export to the American market during the early Federal period.
 
Condition: Very fine, couple tiny rim chips. No restoration.
