Peter, Paul and Mary 1966 Philharmonic Hall, New York City Concert Poster
New York City, February 25, 1966 — 13¼ x 21½ inches

An original cardboard concert window card advertising an appearance by Peter, Paul & Mary at Philharmonic Hall in New York City on Friday evening, February 25, 1966. Printed in the group’s familiar mid-1960s tour format, the poster features striking photographic portrait panels paired with bold typographic design characteristic of the era’s folk revival promotional material. Issued under the direction of manager Albert Grossman, the piece reflects the group at the height of its commercial and cultural influence, when Peter, Paul & Mary stood among the most prominent voices in American folk music and political activism.

Unused examples of these venue-specific window cards are increasingly difficult to locate, particularly in such well-preserved condition. The present example originated from the archives of music manager and promoter Charlie Rothschild, whose career intersected with many of the defining figures of the 1960s folk and countercultural movement.

Condition: Near mint.
